More than a cooking demo, this interactive workshop will be led by Stephanie McClenny, owner of Confituras, Austin’s first Good Food Award winner. Come for a guided tasting and peek into her tricks of the trade, and learn to identify the characteristics that make these preserves stand out both in taste and green production practices. Also hear from the farmer and beekeeper who are part of the ‘food community’ for these winning preserves.

The Good Food Awards were created as a non profit project to redefine “good food” to include taste, authenticity and responsible production. In its first year, Alice Waters presented 64 winners from 26 states with the honor, including Austin's own Stephanie McClenny of Confituras. The dinner will showcase Confituras and other Good Food Award winners from the South, with proceeds benefiting fire relief efforts on Texas's sustainable farms and growth of the Good Food Awards in the South.
